END of YEAR TASKS
Remember:
End of Year Tasks for Unicorn Instances for Library Staff
Check Transit Items wizard to receive any items that are in transit
Instructions for utilizing the Transit Items wizard can be found online in the INFOhio Handbook: Sirsi K-12 Library Automation Software GL3.1 documentation under the Special Circulation section.
Remove Any Unneeded Report Templates
Review the templates found on the Templates tab when selecting Schedule New Reports. Any reports that are no longer needed or outdated can be removed using the Remove option.
The INFOhio support staff at the ITC can provide the users with a list of report templates and when they were last used. NOTE: A template 'use' does not necessarily mean that the template was actually used to run a report. The log files have an entry each time the report is run, each time the report is modified, etc. There are quite a few entries in the log files when the report template is initially created.
Update Expiration Dates on Patrons
Review the list of patrons to expire during the summer months and update the expiration dates accordingly with the anticipated graduation date (or NEVER if the anticipated expiration date is not known). This should not be done until the patron update procedures have been suspended for the summer.
Remove Inventory Reports from the Finished Reports List
Effective September 2007, the reports related to the inventory process are no longer removed from the finished reports list. The library staff should review the finished reports list and remove any inventory reports that are no longer needed.
Accessing CAT 2.0
**CAT Jr. 2.0!**
INFOhio would like to introduce our newest addition to the OPAC family - CAT Jr. 2.0.
This is a completely revised interface that has replaced the current CAT Jr. It still spotlights the familiar CAT Jr. character that we hope will help young learners more easily transition to the new interface.
The features are purposely intended to be much the same but with many improvements:
More graphics and colors used throughout
Larger non-serif type and text colors
Easy search screen that automatically
filters to YOUR library
Added Sort and Item Group filter that can
used (or ignored)
New material type images on the results list
Range search in Reading Program Search
Check for Reading Program tests in YOUR
library if currently set that way in CAT
New lexile range search
Visual search remains for topical searching
Ability to add Chilifresh Review Engine
(3rd party vendor)
**How do I connect?**
There are two ways to connect to CAT Jr.
The preferred method for first time connection:
Go to URL: http://brazil.scoca-k12.org/
Then select your district and building.
The familiar welcome page now has a working CAT and CAT Jr. button.
Bookmark this welcome page or make it your browser’s home page.
Alternatively, you can also visit CAT and see it has a “Go To CAT Jr” button at the right end of the navigational bar.
For your webmaster, if you want the URL located on your library pages, the URL will be:
http://brazil.scoca-k12.org/districtcode/buildingcode/
where districtcode is the code for your district e.g. PC for
where buildingcode is the code for your building e.g. PHS for
Example: http://brazil.scoca-k12.org/opac/PC/PHS/
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Barb
